Clyde Wilhite was called to be their pastor in 1977 and land for a new church in southeast Aurora was purchased two years later. In 1981, the church at Montview and Jamaica was sold and the congregation began meeting at Overland High School. Eventually, the five acres at Iliff and I-225 were sold and six acres were purchased at Iliff and Telluride. Ground-breaking took place in April of 1983 on a facility designed for phased-in expansion.
The congregation began meeting in the present building in 1983. Jeff Noble began serving as an associate pastor at New Life in 1991 and became Senior Pastor in 1996 when he and Clyde Wilhite switched roles.
In 2002 an expansion of the facility, including a 10,000 sq. ft. multi-purpose area, a new foyer and additional parking was completed. The existing structure was remodeled to expand facilities for our youth and children's ministries.
